National Heartworm Awareness Month

Did you know?…….

  1. Heartworm disease is serious & can be life-threatening to our beloved furry pets.
  2. Heartworm disease can affect dogs, cats, and ferrets. Carriers of the disease can be found in coyotes, wolves, and foxes. It only takes 1 mosquito to transmit the disease.
  3. Most dogs with heartworm disease will show vague to no symptoms at all, until it’s too late. It takes 6 to 7 months AFTER exposure to diagnose.
  4. Treatment for this disease is risky & more expensive (~$1000 on avg) than just giving an ounce of prevention…every month…lifelong…to your beloved pet (~$11/month).

PREVENTION IS PRICELESS!!

The staff is caring and professional. Our cat Jack was in for his rabies vaccination a his yearly check up. It was his first visit to this vet since we moved from Illinois. They made him welcome and let him acclimate to the surroundings at his own pace. They did not rush. We will definitely be back.
